Designing The Architecture Of Words
print — publication
We proposed a new design for Metropolis, a magazine about architecture and design. We really got excited at the idea of building layouts to look architectural in nature, especially in blocks of type. For the feature story, we did just that—the text blocks on each spread are visually transformed to reflect the images that they talk about.
We also designed a typographic masthead that represented the word "metropolis"—layers of buildings and forms overlapping one another, all blending together to build their own new texture.
